Yeah, but I would prefer adoptable storage as a simple method to consolidate all the files. And then I could let Android decide whether a file needs to be fast or stored.

Except that it is "locked" to your specific device. Any problems with your device not being usable and the media wouldn't be accessible on another device even while on the sd card.

i dont think 32gb is enough cause is not really 32gb is more like 24gb plus more and more apps have massive date and soon enough we start having performance problems with the phone cause internal memory is full so i can´t understand why adoptable storage is not a option. I recently buy the honor 8 and i still thinking in return the phone just because its missing the adoptable storage. If the problem is the low quality of the cards turning the device slow the solution in easy adoptable storage can only be made with sd cards that can indeed merge with internal memory without losing performance. I was very disappointed when i figure out that this beautiful handset did not have one of the best feature of android 6.0 the adoptable storage.
