Asus Zenpad S 8 could be a nice choice

I have a z10 which I got for $120 with two year commitment. Works good, but no software updates.

Oh yeah that's not a bad tablet at all. I owned it for a while also. It wasn't bad at all. I got rid of it to get the Huawei media pad 3 though. Now that was an awesome tablet but to me it's biggest downfall was it was not celluar and I like a celluar tablet which really options are limited to just about the iPad only. Not many Android tablets are celluar.

There's actually quite a bit of Android with 4g lte out there.

Pretty expensive for a good quality one like the s3... That's $600 with two year contract, more without. That's the closest thing to the current iPad.
