Hooking my LG V20 to a car stereo?

I just inherited a car with an AUX in jack on its stereo. Can I use this cable to hook up my V20 to the stereo and pipe Pandora through it?

Of course. As long as your car has an AUX with the 3.5mm jack port, you can use any. I recommend a high quality cable to prevent unwanted noise.

Ditto, which is a bug in how Android Central handles links sometimes. You can go to quote the original post and tease out the url, but it looks like it's a typical 3.5mm jack audio cable.

If this is the case, then yes it will work fine, and no you won't have to download anything extra. Just plug it in and turn your stereo to the auxiliary input. I do this every day.

There are a couple of things to note, though. When you plug it in, the phone will likely reduce the media volume. This is a "we don't trust you" nag within Android itself in effort to protect your hearing. It doesn't know that you are plugging into a stereo with its own volume controls. So once you get your music playing, you'll want to make sure the volume on the phone is maxed out again.

If you use a Bluetooth headset, then it also may not fully activate the DAC when you plug in the aux cable. Even if it's set for calls only on Bluetooth, the fact that it is connected will make the phone think you want audio routed that way. So you'll want to pull down the notification shade and male sure the HI-FI button is on, because it makes a noticeable difference.

You don't need the android auto app but it does make controlling your music and phone much easier when using it in the car.
