Horrendous Smudge Screen

I love my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Okay it is a little old but the fact that I can easily change batteries is brilliant.

HOWEVER, when I am outside and in most external light conditions the screen looks awful - smudged and foggy. Inside it is great.

Now I know I can use a screen protector but they look obvious for so many reasons.

I know I can clean it with a microfibre cloth every minute, but no thanks!!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If it's smudged and foggy then your hands are causing the problem. Other than keep your hands clean I can offer no solution. It's not a phone issue.

Welcome to Android Central! We're happy to have you here!

What is your brightness setting set to when you are inside and when you are outside - is it dimmer inside; and brighter outside? Could you do a side-by-side comparison with another phone under both conditions?

Thanks.

I make sure that the settings are not on automatic so it would be the same brightness. Maybe I should try the automatic?

I know someone else who has the same issue on the charcoal version but not on the white version.

I have had about 20 different phones and never had this issue before.

Hmm, okay. I'm just thinking that maybe there is something up with your screen, and the brightness settings between your phone and another may yield some results. That sounds like a good call! Switch to Automatic and see what happens!
