I read your original post before you edited it in the time frame allowed without a notation that you edited it. So I will respond to what I read.
You obviously have never read the VZW contract and therefore you assume to use the GNex as it was designed is stealing. You are ignorant of both the law and the contract you entered into.
Stop spreading misinformation. If you don't know what the contract states and are too ignorant of the law to know how to interpret it then shut up.
You are not a man of integrity, you are ignorant. And your ignorance costs you and your family money.
Guilt why? For using the data your pay for?
You can USB or Bluetooth tether too.
I pay out of guilt![]()
I pay, but not out of guilt. I pay because its the right thing to do.
There are obviously two camps when it comes to this.
Those who tether and don't pay for it.
Those who tether and pay for it.
I belong to the second camp, because I believe its the right thing to do. I personally don't care what everyone else chooses to do when it comes to tethering, but can we all PLEASE stop troling and bashing everyone on this? Everyone needs to take a huge "grow up" pill.
Yeah, I'm in that camp. I have a feeling that the tethering people may not have a cable internet connection at home or something like that. I pay $40/month for that and another $30/month to Vzn for unlimited data. I use about 300mb of Verizon's data/month, plus WiFi. If I had a need to tether to a laptop on occasion then I'd use the info from this forum to do it using the unlimited data that I pay for. And no, I've never read my contract. I think Big Red's been very happy to have me as a customer. I'd really rather have stayed with Tmobile but they don't have 3G coverage where I live.Oh and there is a third camp.....Those who don't have a need to tether, so we don't tether and don't pay for it.
I have GN and used it once for tether/hotspot. But connection was slow once my laptop is connected to company VPN (without VPN, speed is fast).
How can I use USB for tether? Just connect USB charging cable to my laptop?

If you don't care, why post on this thread to tell us how you take the "high road" lol? Umm, because you obviously care. There are obviously two camps when it comes to this.

Obviously not the sharpest tack in the box.but those that felt it was OK to steal from a vendor.
But, I stand by what I said. The post that I did make didn't reflect anything but those that felt it was OK to steal from a vendor. It's clear, if what you say is correct, that they hadn't read the contract either and were making the same assumptions that I had made. These are the same people that will buy a child's ticket for their kid at the movie theater when the kid is over the age posted. Their mantra of "screw the corporation" is one that is lacking integrity.
I know that morals and manners are old fashioned and "not cool" but there are some of us that believe in the right thing.
I like when other people pay for tethering. Vzw rapes them enough to leave me alone as I only use small data anyway. Regardless of what our views are do what you want. If it was reasonable in price I wouldnt mind. But with two smart phones already on my plan and 60 bucks in the same data it makes no sense. I am wondering what this family data plan will look like.

We are not gaming the system. We are using the device as the device was designed by Google and Samsung to be used with the full knowledge of VZW.one of the ones who is gaming the system and then gets cut off.
Currently they don't do that on 4G LTE.I pay the $30 so I don't have to wonder if VZ will cut me off or throttle me for excessive use.
That's dumb. No one on 4G LTE is throttled on VZW yet. Once they are, fine then pay for the same data twice if you have to in order not to be throttled. Makes no sense to pay a second time for data you have already paid for until they start throttling.I'm not paying the extra $ out of some altruistic idea that I owe them the money. When the hammer falls on the big time users, I want to be one of the ones who is paying for a service and getting it rather than one of the ones who is gaming the system and then gets cut off.

Sounds like you need to drink less beer, beehound, it is affecting your ability to reason.
