I'm genuinely curious, Why does wiping the cache partition on android solve 99% of all battery drain issues? Why is android built in such a way to allow this to happen over time in the first place? How does a cache of data cause the battery to die fast? Can someone explain please? I had recently did a complete clean wipe and reinstalled nougat and 4 days later after installing 5-6 apps my device began to drain in under 4 hours with the screen off and the phone not on a charger. I wiped the cache and voila back to a full day of use again. Im really confused.

In the first place, are you sure that it was the cache partition wipe that fixed the battery drain? A part of the procedure of wiping the cache partition is to power off the phone; could it not have been that that fixed the problem?

Second, what do your battery usage stats indicate as the cause of abnormal drain?
