How are the new radios?

Has anyone experienced an issue where when the phone goes out of wifi and picks up a 3G signal that the data bars turn from blue to gray and stay gray? An airplane mode switch or quick switch from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only fixes it for anywhere between a few hours to 18 hours or so. I reboot also resolves it for another 12-18 hours. This issue was in 4.0.2, the IMM30B and this latest build as well.

If I never use wifi the phone does not exhibt this behavior, the bars go gray as they should during a phone call and then shortly after the call turn blue again.

Looks improved thus far, showing 4 bars of signal (although I was in a strong area to begin with)

Quantitatively, I'm at 75 dbs where I used to run from 80-100

Qualitatively, not a huge difference. I noticed significantly better (?placebo) phone conversations on the leaked 4.0.4 radios but I never had signal dropout even on the 4.0.2 radios or had to switch in and out of airplane mode to get my phone to reconnect its datastream

I think it would be interesting for me to go to some of my usual poor signal spots (work/weekend hangouts) and see what the new flashed radios mean for signal there

I'm about to call tomorrow to see if I can get a maxx

Debating whether I should exchange for a Maxx or try a third replacement. I really do love the Nexus, and don't really WANT a Razr... but ultimately, I want a phone that doesn't drop data and voice every few minutes.

As far as the dbm goes it is a little better but not enough to say it is significant change

Dang... Let me know how calling tomorrow works. I'd like to make some money in the stock market. Can I call myself? (tongue firmly in cheek). :-)

Hasn't changed my 3G bars. Coming from Leaked 4.0.4's stuck at 93dbm 2asu. Droid X was consistently at 83dbm in same spots. Same if not faster speeds though. :-\

So far signal levels have been lower, but I haven't actually experienced any problems with talk or performance.

Currently I am at 94dbm where as usually I would be at 104dbm nothing great but better nonetheless

Almost 24 hours with the new radios I'm thinking the old leaked were better, signal is about the same but battery is taking a beating, same usage today as usual week day and had to change the extended battery 1.5 to 2 hours sooner (not sure exactly but in that ballpark). Usually would still have 40% on the second one at this point but I'm at 24% and I had it on the charger for a bit, was at 14% 3 hours ago. Going to give it a couple more days but if this continues these won't remain on my phone.

-79 dBm and speed test of 19.26 mbps down and 7.86 mbps up
could not be happier.

had about the same results on the leaked 4.0.4 radios

I had the leaked 4.0.4 radios that were leaked a couple months ago and never had this problem, now with the new leaked radios it has happened a few times today and signal isn't any better that I've noticed.

Wow I am so conflicted... some people have this problem some don't... some don't, then start having it weeks later... you never had it, now you do. I'm so conflicted... is it a software problem that will be fixed in 4.0.5, or is it just faulty hardware. IDK at this point.

I started getting the mic screeching within the last month and a half. Never had it at all when I was on the 4.0.2 radios, and then about a month after switching to the 4.0.4 leaked radios I started hearing it occasionally, but only when on the cell phone with a verizon customer using a dumb phone (more than likely coincidental, was only 3 diff people) So far since I flashed the newest radios i havent heard the screeching and I called one of those three people three times in the last 24 hours. Time will tell.

Flashed the new 4.04 and the first person I talked to after 10 mins they said I was breaking up so badly they couldn't hear me. Call back and its fine. I was having this problem on 4.02 I was hoping the update would fix my problem. :(

After updating to the official build, I can safely say it is worse than before.
Sure, I get 1 bar more for 4G but the speed doesn't increase. In fact, it is constantly switching back and forth between 3G and 4G to the point that I have to turn on wifi just to get something decent.
Was just walking home and realized that it had switched off 4G. Again. I have full blue 3G bars but no data. Nothing loads. What the hell is this? Have to go into airplane mode to clear it, wait a few minutes for the grey bars to appear, wait some more for them to become blue 3G, up to 4G, and then down to 3G.
These issues were not present until updating. Its like the damn thing can't make up its mind on 3G/4G. This is happening too much and battery is draining. Reboot does nothing. Cleared cache, nothing.
I'm gonna give it til early next week to see how it is before taking up the offer on the Maxx.
Honestly been more impressed with the speed on that compared to the Nexus. Don't know why a lot of people swear it is not up to par with the Nexus. Why is that? Because of Blur? The screen?
Gonna keep my fingers crossed until then, but I really wish I could punch Samsung's team dead in the mouth for letting this out the way it is. Petty, I know but that's the level of frustration I'm at right now.
Hopefully everyone else has a decent experience.

@Phoenix Mike

Are you sporting a case? I had the problems you were describing with a slip on. Replaced it with a different one that has a larger hole for the antenna. i haven't had the problem since.

I can't say I'm not loving this thread.
Now people are gonna start saying to wait for 4.0.5, lol
Maybe the next udate will fix the unfixable.
I just hope this year's Nexus will be made by Motorola

Both

Although if you are looking for strong signal and a long-lasting battery, those may be small enough obstacles to hurdle over
