Well for me mixed feelings, basic things like notification badges are gone once you dismiss in notification panel, do like the shortcut option when you hold email / messages icons also others, camera full view button, but I had to go to Nova launcher and tesla to get the basic, very strange what they did. I do hope this will get sorted soon and I'm sure there is lot more new futures that I didn't explore yet.

Not having the unread number on badge app icon is a real letdown. No way to know how many unread emails or WhatsApp I have!

Ok tried using tesla unread and still same problem, once you swipe to dismiss notification on lock screen or from notification panel the badge is gone, so even tesla can't overcome this problem, what that hell is going?


Sorry should have said is for stock apps like phone messages etc., other apps will show badges.

Yes, email is stock Samsung application, WhatsApp is 3rd party, strange thing is that Gmail app works with tesla even when you swipe to dismiss so there must be few others that will work but I can confirm that phone/messages/email not working, already forget to call wife back today after dismissed from lockscreen, they need to sort this ASAP

I hate it!! No badge notifications, and all I have tried doesn't help. AND not being able to have each contact have their own text tone. Both are so stupid to take away. This may not be much to some but all these other fancy new things you can do with the update means NOTHING to me

I'm very irritated that they killed off the custom notification sounds for text messages. My freaking flip phone 10 years ago had this capability, but this phone doesn't. It's complete BS.

I hated that this feature was removed. Now using message app Textra which allows great customization including personalizedtext tones

So you made nova your default launcher? Did you turn on notification badges in Nova settings? Did you select apps to have badges in the tesla app?

I'm using Nova and Tesla and all badges are working with 5.1.0 apk for Tesla. I can swipe away notifications and the unread number still persists.

Sideload from a customer support email response attachment.
