How bad is the LG V30 display

Just out of curiosity...at what brightness setting do you typically keep your V30 at? I'm still using an LG Optimus G Pro from 2013, and to get through a day I need to keep the screen as dim as possible. For me, 50-55% gives me adequate brightness and decent battery life. I still need to top it up around midday, but the battery is old...
I'm curious if people are keeping their screens maxed, or are doing like me, and keeping them dimmer. For those that have the banding issue, at what brightness does it appear, and where is that compared to the brightness you usually keep it at? I'm considering the V30, and realize the screen issues might have been limited to early production models.

I just use auto brightness. Some people think it is too dim on auto, but I always thought Samsung was too bright on auto, so I'm happy with it. I don't have any screen issues, and I feel they are overblown.
