How bad is the LG V30 display

I have the edge, and I really am not a fan of the rounded edges. I can't wait to get a phone with a regular flat screen. I know the edge of the V30 is slightly rounded, but not nearly as extreme as the edge.
I wanted to take it because of its futuristic design.in my eyes it's still one of the best looking phone.
My dad has G6 .yes the edges are very minimal but then it is also stretched.it looks good, but nothing extraordinary.....until u look into a proper 18:9 video!

Yeah so?

edit: we already have an active thread on this too that has been going on for a while.

I picked up my V30 last night. I had the Galaxy S7 Edge, and that was supposed to be a pretty good display. I've used the 2 side by side and I haven't noticed anything bad about the display on the V30. I haven't done too much with it yet, but early indications are it's a keeper.

LG V30 Display "Issues"?

So I'm just going to post this here as my two cents and take it with a grain or perhaps a shaker full of salt. Unless you are Vlad or Ron or Alex, or have them looking at your phone all day take the issues they have with the display and put them up for personal preference. Go check it out yourself and decide if you like the screen. I can tell you I much prefer this screen to the LCD on my G6. Perhaps my eyes are just not good enough to notice the issues everyone is complaining about. But one thing I know about smartphones is that no one else had3 to use it but you. Personally I could never go back to Samsung until they figure out how to get great audio on their phones again. And the Pixels are exclusive to Verizon and/or not compatible with T-Mobile JOD.

Get what you like and take a reviewers opinion as just that, an opinion.

Yeah G6 LCD is much much better.i knew it was coming from LG.dyamn u for messing around the pixel xl2 too!

This is my first ever post on AC! I had to, because I picked up the only available V30 at the local Verizon store on Oct 11. It replaced a Note 8 as my daily driver since then, and the screen is tolerable at 50% brightness and higher, but intolerable below that. At lower brightness, my screen doesn't exhibit the splotchy unevenness, but the fuzzy horizontal banding and graininess is impossible to ignore - even at normal levels. Like some reviewers have said, once you see it, it's hard to unsee. Thus, returning it tonight due to Verizon's non-restocking fee policy. I kept the Note 8 and have a few unscientific, but naked-eye noticeable pics that I'll post later.

Yeah correct. Unfortunately people are busy backing the LG V30 for the devices beautiful display!
To me the display issue in LG V30 is a glaring anamoly. What really confused me is that how come QC team missed it!

Love that irony
You should definitely apply that “take an opinion as just that, an opinion” advice of yours to yourself, instead of calling people trolls for voicing THEIR opinion

My biggest gripe with Sammy is battery drain. My S7 Edge would lose 2% an hour just sitting on my desk with the screen off. I've been off the charger on my V30 since 7:40 and I have 96% battery after almost 6 hours (probably only 10-15 minutes screen time).

Hey buddy.i think the problem is location tracking in Google location.i had the same issue.now there is hardly any battery drain.thats the only option I turn off as I also don't want Google to track how much time I spend in restroom ****ting!

Just saw the verge review about the review of the display of pixel 2xl.Looks like the pixel 2 XL suffers the same issue .I already mentioned I don't have high hopes in pixel.hope they make a better oled display next year and learn from Thier mistakes

Nope. I have the same location tracking options on the V30 I had on the Samdung. GS7 Edge has been schizophrenic with battery. One day its pretty good, then for no reason it's getting terrible battery while just sitting on the table on Wifi. I have to restart at least once a week. With the GS7 I'd be between 85% - 88% by now. I just checked and I'm & 96% on the V30. I can see that you are on a crusade against the V30 screen. The GS7 Edge is supposed to have a pretty good screen, and I don't have a problem switching to the V30. I'm sure some screens have issues, but not all of then apparently.

Re: LG V30 Display "Issues"?

Got black v30 today(at&t). 10/2017 manufactured date. 30+ mins of testing with 2 different apps. Screen is problem free and georgeous. Better than s7 active. I went to the verizon store across the street first just to check out the pixlel2 and pixel2 xl. Pixel 2 xl screen just looked dull and a little faded next to the pixel 2. Glad the v30 screen was so good and problem free or i would have had to jump ship with at&t and get the verizon reg pixel 2.

Probably has more do with new chipset design. My Note 8 loses almost no battery overnight or when sitting.

Not tried the v30 but I found the G6 better for standby battery drain vs the S8 or S8+. I managed to improve the S8 via package disabler pro and toggling background data but it still drops a couple of % an hour just sitting there doing nothing.
