Android Central Question

Hi there!!

I have a challenge for you: it is a very specific technical question about my Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro which runs Android 12 SKQ1.211006.001, so let's see if someone knows enough to help me out...

As you know, when we take photos they appear with the name in the following format: IMG_20220830_215802.
When recording a video, they are named as: VID_20220830_225802.

Since I sort all my photos by name, every time I make a video - and I make A LOT- I have to change "VID" to "IMG", but I lose much time in the process. Therefore, I would like to be able to determine that ALL the files on my POCO F2, whether they are photos or videos, could all have the same name, so that I do not have to rename them myself.

Can some sould out there help me change this on my phone, please?

Thank you very much,
Manuel .

Welcome to Android Central! I don't think this is possible without doing some complex tinkering: https://stackoverflow.com/questions...ptured-image-with-custom-file-name-in-android

There might be a 3rd party camera app that allows you to modify the filename format, but I'm not really sure. You may want to try a few 3rd party camera apps in the Play Store to see if they have that functionality.
