How can I connect my Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 to my Sony TV?

Connecting Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 to Sony TV

I would like to know the best way to connect my tablet to my tv so that I can watch films etc. I understand that I need an HDMI adaptor and HDMI lead or a dongle. Can anybody please give me some guidance? Thanks Anthony

Welcome to Android Central! Ideally, you would use an MHL adapter that plugs into the microUSB port, then connect that to an HDMI cable into the TV. However, it appears that the Tab 2 10.1 is not officially MHL-compatible: Which MHL adapter does my Samsung Galaxy need?. Your best bet may be to use a Chromecast or similar device, but this requires you to have a home wi-fi network.
