FIle Transfer Between LG G4 and Mac

I'm trying to transfer files between my G4 and my Macbook but every solution I've found by researching has not helped me. I have installed the most current driver for the G4 and tried running Android File Transfer, where it will not recognize my device. I've tried changing the type of USB connection back and forth, but I had no luck with that. Is there any way of being able to manage my files on my G4 with my Mac through a USB connection? I know AirDroid is an option of transferring files without a USB cord, but I'd prefer to use a USB cord. I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.2. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I found the thread and tried everything that was suggested there, but none of the suggested solutions worked for me. Even uninstalled the drivers to see if that did anything and came back with nothing.

I was just informed that this doesn't seem to work with lollipop.

I just used a card reader and loaded the files right to the memory card. Worked like a charm for 8GB of music.

It's wonky at best. I installed the LG United Mobile Mac Driver on LG's website. It forces a restart of your Mac. Make sure your phone is unlocked before plugging it in. Android File Transfer should open and run...for a while. Certain files or folders might crash it, and once it crashes, or you disconnect, it's not going to open up again until/unless you reinstall the Mobile mac Driver software and restart allllll over again. And then you might find those same files or folders still cause crashing. At that point, you have to either create the folder on your phone to move those files into, or move your files one or a few at a time.
