unfortunately, message has stopped

how can i fix this problem, i got an sms, but if i want to open it, this message keep popping up "unfortunately, message has stopped"?

Do you have a custom ROM? I recall this happening to me with Cyanogenmod. Try clearing the cache of your Messages application.
