How can I fix YouTube videos blacking out after 1-2 minutes?

I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro--just got got it today, in fact--and I've had a reoccurring issue of YouTube videos blacking out, while audio continues. I've attempted to solve this by resetting to the factory version, but the issue persists. Any help is very much appreciated.

By blacking out, meaning the video is black but the options like the scrobbler and the youtube buttons like caption and stuff are still there? Or did you mean that the screen light just turns off just like if you locked the phone?

Back again on an account so that I may reply. The YouTube menu and buttons are still available. The video will buffer twice and after the second, it will turn black. I can pause and play the video, but to no avail, as the screen continues to stay black.

Does this happen on both WiFi and mobile data? How strong is your network signal?

Yes, it does happen on both WiFi and data. My network signal is almost always "Very Strong."

What resolution are you playing? Try it with different ones.

Anything lower than 720p HD will play fine without error. Is there any way I can continue watching in 720p, or will I need to stay below HD?

You might need to stay below HD for now. Probably could be fixed in an update.

Try hitting the home button and going back to it in the closed app screen. This happens to me and it works, it saves your place in the video and you can watch HD.
