How to force a mms text message Samsung Galaxy S4 active

I have a Samsung s4 active through att, I regularly go over the 160 character limit and go upwards of 400 characters, instead of converting to mms it will split into a rediculous amount of sms that annoy the people I text, I've had it break up into as much as 6 sms msgs, I want to force it to convert to mms when I go over the 160 limit, is there a way to do that? I've looked through all of my settings and can't seem to find anything

Try a different messaging app. I don't think the default app gives you the choice.
