How can I free up space using the Huawei gallery app?

Looks like I got this as when I click settings then account centre or even users & accounts then click on cloud it takes me to the first picture I posted.

Ok, so what happens if you tap Gallery on that menu screen? Does it give you an option to disable sync?

Right, so turn that toggle off -- it should stop the automatic sync/backup of photos to Huawei Cloud.

When I do that my photos go from 3000 to 200 but all these ones that are showing look like ones from WhatsApp, Snapchat etc.

It might only be intended for the camera roll. Images from apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat are saved to a separate directory. Can you clarify -- where are these WhatsApp and Snapchat images showing? Do you mean that they're still syncing?

When I click on gallery then albums my WhatsApp & Snapchat etc pictures are in the all photos section. But I do have a different section for WhatsApp pictures & Snapchat.

I think what happened is that your 2800 photos are still in Huawei Cloud, but since they're not saved locally on the phone and since you turned off sync, they're no longer showing up in your Gallery app. If they're backed up to your Google Photos in the cloud, they should show up in the Google Photos app.

Yeah they are there in Google photos ok.

Ok, so you should stop getting that warning message that Huawei Cloud is running out of space.

Still got the warning today & it's now at 4:25GB. What is it backing up now coz gallery is off.

You can download the Google Files app and use that to delete anything unwanted that is taking up space. Worth a shot.

Also, on Huawei phones, there is a system app called Optimizer that will clean up the phone too.

The memory on the phone is fine got loads of space still I'm on about Huawei's gallary where all my pictures are saved to, that cloud service is getting full somehow.

Cloud backup is also storing notes,contacts,home screen layout and probably app data not just pictures . But since you turned photo gallery off to sync should be option to clear out Huawei cloud .

Should be able to go phone settings then accounts look for Huawei back up and delete their , that's how it is on my Samsung phones.
