How can I get a Razr xt926 working?

Just switched to cricket from verizon. imei said it would work, but once the sim card was inserted...nothing. My husband loves this phone and the set up. He doesn't want to change phones. Please please help!

I'm afraid I know little about US carriers, but did you enter the APN settings as described here?
