How can I get my custom ringtones and notifications working on my Galaxy Note 5?

Custom ring tones and notifications not working on galaxy note 5

I have several contacts that I've created custom ring tones and notifications for... Even though they've been saved to each contact it still goes back to my general / default notification when they call or text. Am I missing a step somewhere?
