How can I get my Galaxy S4 contacts back?

Good day all

Please can you help and assist me on the following.
My Galaxy S4 GT – 19505 just suddenly lost all my contacts.
There are a few on my phone self but ALL my sim card contacts are gone.
Please assist me that my phone can pick it up again.
I’m sure it’s still on my sim (well I really hope so) but my phone just don’t pick it up.
I’ve restarted my phone a few times and took out the sim but still no contacts.

Please can you help me with this issue?
Its really important to me please.

Hello. Welcome to Android Central.

Sorry for the wait.

Are they still gone if you open the Contacts app,
touch - Menu,

select -
Contacts To Display

and choose - All, or - Sim.

It's a good idea to 'merge' or start saving contacts as Google Contacts, so you will always have them on your Google account if you lose or damage your phone.
