Outlook contracts not syncing into the Contacts list

I synced my gmail and other accounts as well as Outlook through Microsoft exchange. My contacts did not sync and cannot figure out how to get them into the CONTACTS app. Any help is greatly appreciated. Neither Samsung nor Tmobile were any help at all.

Try to remove the account, and add it back in through the settings - accounts menu

I recommend you use NINE to connect your Exchange account.

Many reasons why NINE is better and one of them is the built in NINE contact editor. It better matches the fields in Outlook/Exchange. Also the Notes field isn't limited to a certain number of characters unlike the Samsung contact manager.

This is what I found on the outlook.com support pages Mobile - Outlook.com Help
However it seems that contacts created on the phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) are not saved to outlook.com contacts :-(

Really annoying, I noticed this recently after adding new contacts and finding they haven't sync'd across.

I thought ok, for the time being I'll manually add them in to the outlook app, so I open up the add, uhmm... you can't add new contacts inside the outlook app...

Also Microsoft support are "trying to help" by requesting I reset sync etc, I have informed them of the documentation that talks about one way sync, totally fallen on deaf ears.

Contacts app > more > settings > contacts to display.

Make sure all the contacts you want displayed are checked.
