how to get samsung galaxy note 3 to detect an sd card

My Galaxy Note 3 does not detect sd card. I put sd card in another cellular phone and it was detected. What can I do?

With the info you provided my guess is that you either put the sim in the wrong way or the sim reader might be damaged.
One of the metal prongs that sticks up ever so lightly might be bent or broken.
