How can I get my Samsung Galaxy S9 to reconnect via bluetooth in my Honda Pilot?

Since the latest update, my phone either doesn't connect or disconnects every call I attempt to make or answer while connected via bluetooth in my 2018 Honda Pilot. In addition, whenever my phone "goes to sleep" (screen goes dark), my navigation through Google Maps disconnects.
