How can I get rid of, or increase, the 200-limit on "mark as spam" in my Note8 email inboxes?

Each time (in each of my 5 email inboxes) that I mark an email as spam, the email vanishes from the inbox and then returns into the inbox betwixt 1 second & 10 hours later (depending on when I next open that inbox). This is on my Note8 (which I've used since September 6, 2017).

I use IMAP incoming server.

Just recently, this also began occurring on my s8+.

When I press "mark as spam" a notification appears that my spam filter has already reached maximum of 200.

(This doesn't occur when I mark email as spam on the servers via my computers or tablet.)

I use att.net & hotmail servers.

e-mail clients typically don't care about this at all. It is probably a server setting of some sort. And this is probably why you are seeing it on your Note 8 and S8+.

What e-mail client are you using on your phones?

Is this a gmail.com account?

I use the email client pre-installed on my phones.

Thanks hugely for the link that explains clearly for me! It's annoyingly & maddeningly time-consuming to be unable to block spam email from my phones. My Note2 still does a fine job of blocking spam via the simple option of blocking domains of selected emails!

That's why I use Outlook as my primary email app. It supports multiple email servers.

The default email client support multiple email servers also.

OP's issue is that the default email client records domains which were used to send spam. Apparently that list only allows 200 entries. This only affects the ability to mark items as spam, not the ability to receive email from different domains.

With IMAP, the server doesn't care what you do in the client.

To get rid of spam, mark it as spam on the server.

(You're using IMAP as if it were POP3, and that just doesn't work.)
