How can I get the email app on my Nexus 10 to open?

e mail app on my Nexus 10

I want to add Verizon.net to my e mail account. When I go to settings to I try to update the account, the e mail icon is not shown. I click on the "add account", the required field are not shown. I'll complete the shown fields, submit and response is "cannot open connection to server".

Any recommendations to list the "e mail" icon or get connected.

Try doing this through the Email or Gmail application.
