How can i make my samsung galaxy S3 battery life last longer?

You can always get a cord to charge in your car. Also energizer makes a portable battery pack that attaches to your key ring. No matter where I go and if needed, I can charge my phone.

There's also the option of spare batteries, and extended capacity (larger batteries).

can someone tell me why my android OS reading is so high. Its reading 32% battery usage? Help. It's killing my battery

Turning off radios will certainly improve your battery life, at the expense of turning your smartphone into a pretty dumb one. I got a phone like this so I could get email and other information while mobile, and turning off data pretty much defeats the purpose. But, to each his (or her) own. If getting more battery life is more important than getting email, this approach will certainly work.

I can see a few scenarios where I could put on airplane mode. That would be if I'm on a computer or tablet with internet access already. Problem would be calls that are important or urgent.

Read my tips and myths thread, linked above. You could turn put it on Airplane mode, then turn on WiFi, and use a VIOP app to get phone calls. If you have strong WiFi, and weak cellular, that could save some battery. OTOH, if you're sitting at a desk, you could just plug the phone in for a while.

Why does my phone say 100% fully charged then I disconnect the charger and in about five minutes it jumps to 38%?
Samsung galaxy 3 ... THREE months old

Defective charger, defective battery, or defective phone, I'm afraid. It's not unusual for the battery percentage to drop several points right away, but from 100 to 38 isn't right. I'd try using a different charger and / or charging cable first. If that doesn't resolve it, take it back to your carrier store and see if they'll give you a new battery.

My phone was fully charged at 7 AM this morning and now it is down to 50%. Can you help?

Try an app called juice defender! I was a skeptic about apps that claim to save you battery, but it seems to work well :) it automatically turns off the data radio when your phone is locked and turns it on when you unlock your phone and manages power hungry background processes :) I went from just like 7 hours of moderate use to 10-12 hours with this app

Juice Defender is good. I use Green Power Premium myself.

Those apps can be fine, but be aware of the trade-offs: You'll only be notified of emails and other notifications and updates when you bother to pick up the phone and turn it on. You could get 15 emails, and not have any idea, if you don't remember to check. Me, I bought a smartphone to stay connected.

And if you use any task killing functionality, be prepared for your phone to be less stable, and to exhibit random freezes and/or reboots.

You can also set it to check for emails at different times such as every 5 minutes, 15 minutes etc.

Yeah thats true. Third part task killers are never a good idea especially because andoid is fully capable of managing its own multitasking

I don't like task killers either but some programs are not task killers and you can set it to check traffic at various times of your choosing, which also saves battery life.

Can anyone tell me what's exactly going on inside my phone?
And how to prevent the drainage?

Looks like your device is waking up periodically to look for notifications. the battery time isn't bad, but can be improved slightly by looking at your FB, weather, etc. app settings and spreading the sync update times out a little further, ie. every 30 min or something to that effect. Based on this, your standby time looks to be about 1.5 days.

Like I said in the other thread, 19 hours on a little more than half of your battery charge is nothing to complain about. Most people would kill for that kind of battery life.

Yeah I want to improve my battery more.
Actually, my Fb and weather are set to 'manually' in the refresh updates. And even Gmail is turned off. But what worries me is the standby time. Is the battery draining rate during idle is ok?
