restore nandroid backup using CWM regardless of the android version?

the question seems to be pretty clear. i'm on -
android 5.0
Samsung galaxy note 3 sm n-900
Rooted
CWM

and i would like to restore the backup i dumped while i was on-
android 4.4.2
Rooted
CWM

so will i be able to switch from android 5.0 to 4.4.2 or vice versa by just restoring the nandroid backup?

Re: restore nandroid backup using CWM regardless of the android version?

Yep. Once you're in CWM you can restore anything you got running on that phone. I'd restore just the system - no reason to waste time restoring the same apps, and if you changed anything while in one ROM it won't carry over to the other ROM is you restore the date.

But I went back and forth between them all the time on my note 3. (I'm on 5.0 at the moment, but I might just install 4.4.2 again [I've been that route so often I can do it in my sleep], Xposed [which doesn't work right on a Samsung 5.0 ROM], Safestrap [AT&T so I can't install a custom recovery any other way] and get back the phone I like. All 5.0 gives me is the Stagefright fix, a notification pulldown I can't stand and a fix for my solitaire game so the hints are slow enough to see [which I can live without].)
