How can i solve the problem of Huawei P20 Pro black screen issue?

I have a P20 Pro and lately it has developed this black screen issue. When I pick up the phone, the screen will flicker (or 30% of the screen) but not turn on . If I press the on button, same thing.
I tried all the DIY fixes including factory reset. Nothing works. Took it to a repair shop. Was told screen damaged inside.
But here is the curious part. If I pick up the phone and screen won't turn on after several attempts, if I apply the heat of my hand to it for 30-45 seconds, the screen turns on every time!
Surely if screen was damaged, this wouldn't work!
Help please!

If it was a software issue, then it wouldn't work to alter the physical properties if the phone.
It could be any number of things from a faulty digitizer to a poor ribbon cable connection to the main board.
Your best is have the repair shop open it to check all the likely connections, if that doesn't fix it then you'll probably need a new screen.
