How can I stop Samsung Galaxy Active 2 watch from deleting text messages on phone?

I have the Active 2 watch (LTE version), but have to connect via Bluetooth to update the Samsung Health app occasionally - whenever I do this, it will delete random text messages. I can't keep the texts on my watch as that takes up all of the space, so just clearing the notification does not help me.

Please help! I am beyond the '14 day' return window and I'm beyond frustrated with this $430 watch. It's completely useless if I can't get it to stop deleting messages.

Have you tried deleting and repairing the watch to the phone?
I have the original active and I thought clearing them clears them from the watch while deleting them removes them from the phone as well.
