how can I stop someone track my phone?

my ex boyfriend lately has installed a gps chip to track me and I feel really bad about it because he knows every step i take and annoys me i have a lenovo android which he made it to me as a present for my birthday before we broke up I would like to know if there is a possibility to stop this?

I highly doubt your ex installed a gps chip. More than likely it's just a tracking app. Do you see any tracking apps on your phone?

Go into settings and reset your phone. This will remove any 3rd party Apps he may have installed. Do not restore a backup. Set up the device by hand and watch in the Play Store for what Apps it wants to reinstall. Don't let it install anything suspicious.

ALSO, did he do the setup? Did he create the Google Account and select the password? If yes, he can see your emails to and from that email address. Change the account. Create your own Gmail Account and use that to set up the phone.

If all else fails, trade that phone in at a shop for something different.

If harassment continues, report it to the authorities.
