I noticed a lot of posts about a recent update. How can I tell if it was done? My phone started doing strange stuff the other day. Ringtones and alerts play the wrong sounds, and my alarm stopped playing the ring assigned to it. The alarm just vibrates until I erase and reprogram it. Then it'll work the next morning and the next time after that it just vibes again.

It says I'm 2.2.1. Any ideas why my phone started doing this? I also saw posts about a security update. Could that have caused this?

Doubtful. As far as I know, the security update hasn't come out yet, and certainly not days ago.

Did you load any new applications or anything about the time you started experiencing the problems?

PS: Are these custom ringtones that are present on your SD chip, or native ones installed on internal memory? If they are on the SD chip, it may be seated badly or going bad. Try removing the SD chip and reinserting it.

Sorry, I had added a PS: to that note after posting it.

The tones are the stock tones.
