How can I upgrade from 2.3.6 to Ice Cream Sandwich on a Huawei Y220 - U10

I have already rooted the device and I have tried upgrading several times but it could never work. Can someone give me the full steps please?

Welcome to the forums. I looked on several phone spec sites, and saw the device is only on 2.3. Checking Cyanogen's website, they don't list your device, so flashing a custom ROM is out of the question. I am afraid you are stuck on 2.3.

Your only option is to learn enough to modify ROMs yourself and modify one for a later Hauwei to run on your phone. (It'll be more like crawling than running, though - ICS on a phone with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM that was designed to run on 2.3 [2.3.6 was a few updates later].)
