Android Central Question

I have a webpage that displays PDFs directly in the browser along with other content. This PDF file is not possible to download for viewing - it is displayed directly on the webpage. Works withouth issue on iOS and PC.

However, I am unable to view the PDFs on my Android phon. The only thing I am able to see is this tiny error picture icon, but the actual PDF.

I am on Samsung Galaxy S+ with Android version 8.0.0.

I have tested in Chrome, Opera and Firefox.

I have attempted to download both Google PDF viewer and Adobe, however they can only help me with downloading PDFs which is not my issue.

What can I do to view the PDFs directly in a browser?

Not possible on mobile, unfortunately. Unless you find a PDF app with a built-in browser, documents must be open separately after being downloaded.

Just make the file downloadable but uneditable. Then the user's choice will be to download with the browser or view in a pdf reader (or download, then read in a viewer, depending on the phone). Which is why it's a bad idea to use PDF on a mobile site.
