How can you delete apps directly from app drawer?

On my last two phones I could just long press the icon and the menu will pop up. This is not the case with my note 8.

Give a hard press on the app you want to delete for about a sec. A pop-up menu should appear, select uninstall.

I changed mine to .5 and this option still works

It won't work if the animations are turned off. You have to leave them at least on 0.5.
