I put the bookmark widget on my desktop but it has 4 preselected bookmarks (VZW, imagine that, Yahoo...). I did bookmark a few fave sites but the widget doesn't update and I can't find a list of my bookmarks or how to put them up on the widget.

HELP! Katherine

The only way i see so far is to click on the tabs icon at the top by the address bar, then click on the bookmarks symbol.

wondering same thing, essentially negating the need for the widget if you can't navigate to your desired page from home screen.

That seems to be the only way. My first droid here. Why isn't there a Chrome webbrowser that makes this easier?

Bookmark widget was working fine for me. I use Chrome sync, so I deleted all the pre-loaded ones, but the widget was working correctly before I deleted.

if you have quick controls turned on (under settings->labs)...you can long press the menu button to take you to your bookmarks.

That's a good tip, I didn't know about.

My bookmarks widget works fine. If your using Google chrome and syncing is turned on, it should work.

This does not work on my phone. It just opens the menu selection menu as usual.

Is this not slower (due to the long press) than just pressing the tabs icon and then pressing the bookmarks icon that appears? Am I missing something?

  • If you're already at the top of the page, it's a wash. Long press yes, but bigger icon to mash so less time needed to be precise with your button tap
  • If your tabs icon isn't showing (you've scrolled down), it's faster than having to scroll up as you can do it from anywhere in the page
.

I had the same problem. I was adding bookmarks to my Google account but they never showed up in the widget. I removed the widget then added it again. This time I was prompted to pick local or my gmail account's bookmarks. This fixed the issue for me.

I have a Samsung s2galaxy 4g epic touch. How do i get to my bookmarks. Also an app disappeared from my front pages. How do i get it back? I can't find it in my running apps , downloaded, all, etc. The only way is to find an app with a star for bookmarks and then i can get in there.help!!!

Step By Step Instructions on how to add Booksmark's to Droid 4 cellphones.

Droid 4 Users:

1.) Goto the "My Accounts" app. Open it.
2.) Select "Advanced Setup".
3.) Choose an account you want to save your bookmarks to. (preferably the @gmail you setup with your phone)
3.) Click the check box that says "Sync Broswer".
4.) Hit "Done" or just the back button to back out completely.
5.) Next, Add the bookmarks widget to one of your screens by clicking on the "Apps" icon on the Home Screen, then selecting "Widgets" at the top of the screen. Scroll to the Bookmark's Widget and select/click it.
6.) Next, goto the screen you added your widget too and click the little browser icon at the bottom right of the widget. It will open the browser.
7.) Type in a URL of a website in which you plan to add to your bookmarks on your main screen widget.
8.) *IMPORTANT STEP* On the WEBSITE ITSELF, long press somewhere on the website until a pop-up screen appears that has multiple options. Select "Save to bookmarks" AND/OR you can click on the "Menu" button and the pop-up will appear where you now need to select "Save to Bookmarks". Then when you back out you will see your site is added to your widget. (I did notice sometimes it would look like it added a diff. website, but click on it, close it and you will see it is the correct bookmark you wanted to add.
9.) To add more bookmarks, REPEAT steps 7-9!

Good Luck! Android! #IC3D

Open your web browser (stock browser) and open bookmarks. You will see any added bookmarks under your (@gmail.com) name. There will also be preloaded bookmarks under (local). Place the bookmark widget on home screen and then select your added bookmarks when prompted to do so.

As far as the G2x is concerned, I found that when you bookmark something, BEFORE you dismiss it, press long on it and a list of choices will appear, among which: "make shortcut to HOME" (or something to that effect) and press that. Then the widget will stay on one of your home pages, which you can scroll sideways, right or left. If you want to keep it on your main HOME page, press on it, and slide it from page to page (right or left) until you get to your main HOME screen. It won't stay there unless you make room for it so if it's full you have to move something else away to another page first by pressing it and sliding it to a side page. Hope this helps.
