How do I boost the headphone volume on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

I've downloaded apps to boost volume that ive used on past devices but they dont do anything at all, its like the phone blocks it or something. The music through the headphones really isnt the loudest, is there anything I could do? Any settings im missing?

u need to use the original headphones because the s3 and s4 have a problem with headphones with low impedance

Im using the earphones that came with it but its so quiet. They must have restrictions on the phone or something because not even the speaker booster apps do anything.
