I was trying out doubleTwist for syncing podcast connecting via wire to PC.

I don;t see an option to connect the device as Mass Storage device.

I see;
Charge Only
HTC Sync manager
USB Tethering
Media Sync (this did not work)
Internet pass through

Any ideas ?

Do Media Sync and it'll show up as (I believe ) an MTP device. I have no idea why this is done differently than EVERY OTHER FRIGGIN DEVICE I'VE EVER USED. But that's the way it is. The Gnex is straight MTP. The HOX is UMS. The EVO is ... different. :-/

Thanks Phil.. but it ain't behaving.. I chose "Media Sync"

DoubleTwist is saying ".. unsupported USB mode. Choose Mass Storage mode when connecting... "

I still see Evo as a Portable Media Device not a drive :( .. what to do ?

Now I really think a pure Android might have been better... aaarrggg

I see this on doubleTwist help page...

"Tablets running Android 3 (Honeycomb) or devices without a SD card running Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) do not have a USB Mass Storage (MSC) mode available so please use AirSync instead of USB to sync." so is it due to ICS that I can'd do MSC ?

Yep, it sucks that there is no USB mass storage now on the "fake sd" card. Makes things MUCH more difficult with Linux. Airdroid is VERY handy...

I thought during Sprints description of the phone that you can directly sync phone from Itunes?

Wow ! That will be huge... How ? is this through the HTC Sync manager app ?

Re: How do I connect this as Mass Storage Device for doubleTwist

DoubleTwist had an update today. It recognizes my phone as a HTC One X. I'm using disk drive with debug unchecked for connecting. I'm pretty sure that's what I used to sync my phone with DoubleTwist before today's update.

I downloaded HTC Sync Manager today and couldn't get the it to recognize the phone. It says it's available for the HTC One family, but not specifically for the EVO LTE. Go figure. But I did get all my music loaded into it and looks like it will be a viable alternative to DoubleTwist.

I had previously played around with HTC Sync (different from HTC Sync Manager) and it crashed my computer and I had to System Restore. I kept getting a runtime error.

I would suppose. Unless they just meant through a 3rd party application like doubletwist, which I use now for my 3D. But then why list it as a feature?

I am just bummed by this inconsistency and fragmentation of simple connectivity implementation.....

I now got Podcast from doubletwist and doing just ota podcast downloads.

Actually I added the sdhc card and now I can mount it as disk, part of the problem is solved already as I bought Podcast module from dT
