I never want to use google chrome on my phone. On my old android I was able to delete it and downloaded firefox. At least they won't send me a bunch of spams, viruses and malware google is famous for

Settings/General/Application manager. Find Chrome. Scroll down. Tap "Clear defaults". You'll have to install Firefox and choose it once as "Always" to make it the default. (Default App Manager makes getting to where you need to be to set and unset default apps easier.)

Or if you never want to use it: Settings>Apps then scroll down to Chrome, hit it then select Disable.
