HTC One SV stuck in reboot, then pink/purple screen

My HTC One SV was working fine until this evening when it turned its self off while I was on the phone. I tried to turn it back on but it only gets past the HTC screen, then vibrates and then it freezes on pink and purple tiny square. Then it goes black and tries to reboot its self and does the same cycle. I've took battery out, powered it up holding the power button and + volume button but I still end up with the pink/purple screen. Connected it to my mac and it's not been recognised. Any ideas? Was it it firmware update that happened automatically and screwed up?? Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! It doesn't have to be due to a system update--sometimes a device can start to fail on its own, due to hardware issues. The only things I can suggest are trying a new battery (although this behavior doesn't really sound like a bad battery), and removing any SD card that might be present, since corrupt SD cards can cause various problems. If that doesn't help, you might have to contact an HTC service center or local repair shop to see what else can be done. Hopefully you've kept all of your important data synced to the cloud, or backed up somewhere.
