How do I get my Samsung S3 T999 off of edge?

please am in nigeria i use airtel network on the phone it was unlocked correctly the voice call is working but the data is constantly showing E and this gives me concern.pls i want to knw wat to do get it to 3G on it pls

First, try a factory reset. Back up all of your data first if you're able to.
If that doesnt work, try removing the battery and sim card, and leaving the battery out for at least 5 or 10 mins. That will help your phone reset itself on the network. Now, with your sim card out (if you have one) wipe the copper part off ojln the back off it. Make sure that it is free from debris and smudges.

Make sure you've changed the APN settings to match your carrier. See APN Settings of Airtel Nigeria for Android, iPad, iPhone, Nokia and PC : OgbongeBlog|

Resetting, removing the SIM card, etc., etc. won't help if the APN settings are wrong.
