I have an 09 Fusion and I am having difficulty getting it to pair with my Droid X. I have tried the "1234" and "0000" codes as well as the 6 digit one that my Sync provides and every time it fails. I have tried it like 30 times and every combination that I could think of, but no luck. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks
Mark

I have a 2010 Escape with Ford SYNC. You have to enter the Ford code very fast for it to take...takes me a few tries :)

On my 09 F150 I just turn bluetooth on on the phone, then go into the phone settings and "scan for devices."

It finds Sync and Sync will display the 6 digit code to input on my X. Input code then it works.

works fine for me, too. 2010 f150. same method as above. it once required a reboot of the phone (after erasing all devices from sync at one time).

I just connected to a F150 last week. I scanned with the DX and it found Sync. I then had to turn off Sype because I couldn't get the numbers in fast enough. Once I was able to get the code in to DX from Sync it worked great.

I am having trouble with our '10 F150 and the droid X. the phone will see the truck but after i get the numbers in it still says failed! I will try the shorter code to see... im thinking an update to the sync?? will try again

I do not have a Ford but when I pair with my Chevys stereo it appears it prefer connection to be from radio not phone, and from what I read it appears this is the same issue, try searching for device from radio and then use code supplied, I think this is a security feature to avoid any one from connecting to head unit with owner request.

I synced mine on an 08, it doesnt pair with a 4 digit code like traditional bt devices. Sync offers many functions that you would not want random passer bys to get access to so a longer random code is used. It displayes the code on the radio during the pairing process, i had to be quick tho. Took a few tries then it was mostly automatic after that. The automated voice 911 assist warning that would shout through the speakers every time i began driving became very annoying.
But really cool. I only got to play with it for a few weeks in a rental.

I have an Atrix. I had to try a dozen times before I could type the 6-digit code in fast enough. Thank goodness SYNC will sit there for several minutes with the same code patiently waiting for me to learn to "speed dial" the code.

I believe this is an Android thing that the Bluetooth PIN entry screen has a very short timeout. I believe this because SYNC sits there with the same code while the phone times out and fails over and over until I key fast enough. It doesn't appear that SYNC is "telling" the phone to give up.

What is the best way to report concerns to Android?
[I'm guessing that Android system developers do not lurk here.]

I just paired my DX and my wife's Droid 2 to our 2010 Ford Flex. Definitely have to type those 6 digits in quick...

thank you!

thank you thank you thank you.....after searching and searching many places, this forum's very helpful folks finally got the pairing help I needed. took only two times of finger sprinting to get the numbers and connection going. happy camper!
