I see the email icon. I swipe down and it shows me the sender, subject and several lines of the body of just one email.
In KitKat, I would see a notification that told me how many new emails I have. Then, I could do a two-finger swipe on it, and it would show me between one and six email senders and subjects (and maybe a brief line of the body).
I'm sure there must be a way to set the notification drawer settings to behave in the way I'm used to.
This is for my exchange account. My personal email isn't showing any notification bar icon at all, which is another problem altogether.
