How do I receive notifications on my Fitbit Charge HR?

My galaxy s3 would sync and silent alarm worked, but when I tried to enable call notification I got "failed to enable notifications".

To fix, I opened Bluetooth on my phone and checked the box "visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices". Before timer ran out I opened fitbit app and enabled call notifications. It turned on without error and now it works!!!

Hope this helps others.

For HTC One M8:
1. Go to the official compatibility help page of fitbit and follow the link to the google groups beta page: (I cannot post links in this forum, but google for "fitbit Android-device-compatibility")
2. Join the Google Group of Fitbit Sync Beta.
3. Follow the download instructions to download the beta version. (You will be forwarded to a Google Play Store page where you need to click to download the beta app)
4. The application has then an update in the Play Store on your HTC One M8.
5. Download it and enable the caller notification in the settings of Fitbit.
6. You may need to allow Fitbit the access to your notifications in the phone settings (under notifications).

It will then work. :)

OMG, KP, THANK YOU! I wasn't clicking on the Charge HR icon on the left until you suggested it. I feel like an *****! I am back in business thanks to you.

Please can you help with the instructions a bit more please. I'm not very computer literate and this fault is driving me insane.
Thanks!!

I have HTC One M8 running 5.0.2 and it wont pair with my Fitbit Charge HR for call notifications

The info provided in previous posts is spot on, Thank You! I still had a problem being able to turn on my device notifications in the FitBit app. What I had to do was change the font on my HTC M9 to "medium", I had it set to "large font" (go to the display settings on the HTC M9). The large font made the app display the page with the larger font but it pushed the "enable notifications" button below the screen and I could not see it or scroll to push the button. Once the font was back to medium the app rendered properly and I was able to turn on notifications...........So, bottom line, put medium font on your phone to make the FItBit app render properly. Once it is set up you can change it back to larger font if needed.

OK, Here's the specs I've worked with and the fix:
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with Charge HR
Error message "unable to communicate with device"
Disassociate your charge from the app on your phone (dashboard ->devices)
Associate your charge as a new device.
