Android Central Question

I lost my bitcoin wallet private key, I’m unable to access my bitcoin. I have over 3000 BTC, I bought in 2009. Please help with any information.

It's my understanding if you've lost your private key and never backed it up you've lost your funds.

I'm also surprised you didn't try to figure this out months ago before bitcoin value tanked.

Even at the current value that would be about 60 million lol.

I have a feeling of schadenfreude.

If this is true, I assume they've spent the last two or three years posting the same thing in every single forum on the internet haha.

Welcome to Android Central! I can sort of understand why people may be very casual about remembering (or more importantly, not remembering) the password or PIN they created for their phone lockscreen. But your Bitcoin wallet private key, which is directly associated with real money? Come on, you have to keep that information safe and secure. It's on you.

Are we being trolled? This would be the first time I've ever seen a question like this involving 60 million dollars... and I've been on internet forums forever lol.

This is either a fishing expedition of epic proportions, or a disaster of biblical proportions

I suspect that was the intent, but gibing me a damn good laugh doesn't really qualify as trolling lol.

Might also be someone looking for a way to steal bitcoin by gaining authorization to a wallet they don't have the password for because it isn't theirs. Either way it's rather foolish not to keep a password safe when it's literally worth millions if they are serious.
