how to recover my contacts

my samsung s4 mini has only 8 gb of space, n yday i got notification that im running out of storage space... so i transferred a bunch of photos from my phone to laptop, expecting that to free up space... but when i go to my Contacts it still keeps swirling n saying "updating contact list" -- but nothing happens n i still cant access my contacts... what shd i do pls?!

When you transferred the photos did you delete the old ones on the phone?

Also, go into system settings - accounts - Google - contacts. Uncheck then check the sync option and see if that helps.

Uninstall some apps or if you have a lot of emails an/or text messages it can help to delete some.
