How do I root my Droid Turbo and silence boot up noise?

How to root Droid Turbo and silence boot up noise

I need to be able to silence the boot up noise.

I know I can make it silent before shutting it off and then it won't make noise when it boots, but I need to be able to completely shut down the boot up noise. I need it to be silent even with the volume up. I want to either deselect the boot up noise, or swap the boot up sound file with a file that makes no noise.

It seems the only way to got enough control to deselect that noise is to root the phone.

So, how do I root the phone and then get into some file somewhere to shut off the boot up noise?

We don't have permanent root access as of yet. You can pay $20 to get "MofoRoot," but it's not the best solution. Check the XDA forums for more help
