How do I root my HTC ONE

Im new to android phones,ive always had an iphone and jailbreaking is a few steps but rooting so far has been the most complicating and frustrating thing ive ever tried to do with my phone.I want a SAFE easy-er way to do it without messing up my phone.I dont know any of the steps,sites...i dont even know where to start.I dont even know what to do once i do root it.Any help would be really appreciated.Could someone maybe email me for 1 on 1 instructions? My girlfriend wants hers rooted too but im clueless.Lol

You could try Kingo Root. It's a Windows app that can root plenty of phone models.
I haven't tried it, but I think it could be the easiest way.

Kingo root did not work on my One. I would go to the HTC One Rooting, ROMs & Hacks section of this forum and look for wizzrah's EZ Toolkit. It is very easy to use.
