how to save an email picture attachment?

I've emailed myself a pic attachment (from my computer to my phone) & want to "save as" a gallery pic. but the only choice is "save" & then I can't find the pic anywhere! help

If it doesn't show up in your gallery, use a file manager to look for folder called DCIM. Or downloads...

There's no such thing as a "Gallery picture". When you start the phone, Media Scanner scans the phones for media files and builds a database. Gallery scans that database for pictures and videos and displays them. The file can be anywhere on the phone. Use a file manager like ES File Explorer and look in your Download folder (in the default that ES starts in - simulated) and you should see the picture there. You can copy it from there and paste it to where you want. Then, if it pasted okay, go back to Download and delete it.
