How do I set the ringtone I want for my alarm?

My alarm has five different ringtones to choose from, but when I click on the one I want and save it, I still get only the "buzzer" alarm. I have tried saving the ringtone I want, powered the phone off and back on, and it still gives me only the alarm clock "buzz." How can I get it to play the ringtone I've chosen?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you trying to use a custom alarm tone? Where are you saving these sound files? Make sure they're on Internal Storage, and not the SD card.

Thanks, B. Diddy, for your response. When I "view" or edit an alarm, it shows the Ringtone I've chosen, and if I click on that, it shows all five ringtones, including the one I've chosen. However, even though I choose OK and Save, I still get only the buzz alarm. The ringtones were already installed in the phone when I got it, so I don't understand why they won't play. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Does this happen in Safe Mode as well? How to turn on safe mode on Zte Zmax 2
