AC Question

Every time I voice text, my phone repeats the sentence or paragraph twice. Anyway to avoid this annoyance?

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Most importantly updates are adding a bunch of bug-fixes (a.k.a. killers to vunabilities to be hacked) and from time to time some nice feature.

Uninstalling updates is always the most balistic approch. This is why I proposed and are now continue to evangelize about this approach:

Guys, Having the same problem [I found that] "Launcher for Galaxy Note 7" from "Beautiful Theme Launcher" is running correctly even with the most recent updates for Google applications.

Call me baby, but getting alternative, more hack-proof solution (described above) seems to me much more appealing.

Whenever U want to check if Google correcteds TouchViz problems U gonna just
1) change launcher to TouchViz, have a see if longpressing home button gives error.
1.a) if the error occur switch launcher back to the Auxiliary one. Go back to step (1) in 2 weeks
1.b) if the error is solved (U see it never more) then switch to the main launcher TouchViz . U can uninstall the Auxuliary launcher for sake of disk space or just keep it as the safe-line.

All the best.

.

nd if needed go back. No tedious uninstalling-installing combo.

Do as U please,
but please do as I said

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Just want to say this also fixed it for me. I have an S3 with 4.4.2. Hopefully other S3s effected by this update will find this thread, because it took me a night of searching.

This worked for me also, after a factory rest not only cleared my phone but also my SD card.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

I got the same problem in my s4 mini gt1919 model... After uninstalling and restoring Google app. The problem solved. Thank you all.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Thank you!!!
I had the same problem on Galaxy S4. Uninstalling updates for Google Quick Search brought the action of hone button back to normal.

I found out what caused it. Earlier today google pushed an update for their google quick search app ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...e.android.googlequicksearchbox&token=QKugVGZO ), this update broke my home button.

So uninstall the app and you should be fine for now.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

thank you , it worked for me , honestly i feel little bit sad that this app isn't working anymore because the google launcher for me "was" the best , considering the easy news feed that related to what you search for :/

Well (and you didn't hear this from me - let's call it theoretically), you could search out the older (issue-free) Google app .apk file appropriate to your OS - say the version from mid-December - from a reputable 3rd Party site, download and install that. I understand <cough, cough> that this would return much of the functionality.

Hopefully, whoever is responsibility for the current bug (be it Samsung or Google) will be able to resolve the issue ASAP.

Go to Playstore and locate your Google app (Yup...the Google app updates are corrupted). click uninstall (it will only uninstall updates). this will solve your issue. it did mine after trying all that other stuff.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

All you have to do is uninstall updates on Google I just did it and tested the menu button and it worked fine, do not delete it because it's hard to get back, trust I did that too by hitting the wrong button so pay attention to what it ask you. After uninstalling updates your phone will be fine.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Post #282 was really helpful. Thank you Bazza1.

I'm SO MAD! This was driving me crazy. I have the Samsung S3 by the way.

I wonder how long this will work. Sooner or later Google will probably force us to update the app. Argh!!

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Thanks for the advice - You really take the application manager shortcut for granted until it stops working!! I downloaded Advanced Task Killer as a work around until I found this thread. Followed advice to kill the Google app updates and I am back to operational order!

For those unsure I did the following on my SAMSUNG GALAXY S4

open settings
open more
open application manager
choose Google App
press uninstall updates

hope that helps someone else who is as tech limited as I am - I was hoping the thread gave instructions but couldn't find any so trial and error on my part. If it doesn't work for you then post a comment so no one else follows my logic.

good luck !:)

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Pressed the "Disable app" button for "Google app", then chose "Factory version". Worked for me!

It's weird my daughter's tablet started with this error message, next day my cell phone day after my husband's cell phone. We tried everything we've found on the Internet even factory resetting my daughter's tablet which worked for 1 day then the message popped up again when trying to close apps from home button. I hope someone figures it out.

We tried that also. It didn'twork.

Go To Settings........Click on Applications....Downloaded applications...Go To Google Update and Uninstall...I think Google can do something to remove this error in android Systems.

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

Same issue here after routine manual updating of PlayStore apps with S4 Mini running 4.4.2. Just had AT&T OTA update two days ago (first one in 18 months and still don't know what it was for) so I wasn't sure what was casing the error message and no recent app list with long press of homekey.

Went to Google on laptop and within 15 minutes found this thread. Thank you, thank yoy, thank you. Working for now (without voice search or text input) and will keep checking for new Google update to fix this.

Can't believe it was that easy thanks to this thread and it's talented people!

Did I say thanks?

Re: How can I fix the "com.android.systemui has stopped" error?

I tried some of the suggestions and some I couldn't figure out, but just now "a miracle happened.' If all else has failed, try this, and don't ask me why it works. Turn on Screen Rotation. Turn the phone horizontal, and press the Home button. I've tried it several times now and it works perfectly. If I turn it back to vertical position, I get the "process has stopped" message still. Found it by accident. I just hope it KEEPS working!
